OMG! Degus make terrible TERRIBLE pets. PLZ DON'T GET ONE it will eat your child! These animals are OMG SO EXOTIC LIKE RACCOONS AND OSTRICHES and they shouldn't be with people! Won't hurt to try, because it is absolutely part of a racoon's natural behavior to use a cat litter box. They use them all the time in the wild. If they don't take to it, there's obviously something *very* wrong.
